Schreiner Signature Pins

While working at The Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Collection, I became fascinated with the beautiful jewelry by Henry Schreiner; his use of inverted gemstones, irregular shapes, and colours drew me in as a collector. When tasked with a poster assignment for Typography and Visual Design at Parsons School of Design, I was drawn to the idea of transforming his famous brooches into an infographic series.

RESEARCH & DATA

The selection of his signature brooches was based on my research from Schreiner: Masters of Twentieth-Century Costume Jewelry by Carole Tanenbaum and Eve Townsend.

OUTPUT

The completed series are three 23in x 34in posters that blend archival imagery and illustrated symbols to highlight Schreiner’s signature designs. Tools utilized in this project were Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Image Credit: Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Collection and barbiescanner via Flickr.
